Apologoes mites  My brain sort of went on holiday after being overworked during exams last week...

My question.... How does a termite mound/anthill maintain a constant temperature range even during the day and night? considering the temperature outside the mound can have a large range.

The termite mound is constructed with a number of additional side shafts coming off of the main central shaft. These side shafts act as a conduit for excess heat to escape the mound via conduction.
As the mound heats up to around 30-31 Celsius some of these shafts will be opened up to allow excess heat to escape, as the temp drops so these shafts will be closed to trap the heat and allow the mound to warm up again.
This is constantly happening so as to maintain the 30-31 Celsius temperature within the mound.

Welldone Ross Hawkins  Another way of saying it is that the shafts and tunnels provide a natural air conditioner :)

Roan you it :)

The Rollers get their name from their habit of rolling from side to side as part of their courtship display
