So, if I understand you correctly, you are asking for practical questions and answers which are short and easy to understand, while still filled with good information.

I have to agree with OWN.............I used to love the Quizzies....................I did not participate in all, being of the opinion that if I can't help/give the correct info I don't post, but I read each and every one..................from a while ago I just stopped reading a lot of the quizzies.................some of the answers were just to long for "normal" people, not knowing everything on every subject..................

Then the slaughterers.........and I do hope I'm not one..............been there and got slaughtered...............I think it's a big turn down for newbies.................You do sometimes feel as if you're pushing into a "circle of friends"and when you see the same person putting up answers you do get discouraged.............

But then I have to say that when reading to forum in total you get to "know" the posters that just have to say something in every single thread and the ones that know their subject and who's answer you can take to heart............well done to those who are willing to share their knowledge and time after time are prepared to try once again..................

Bravo Own, you have said what was always on my mind. Some of the questions are very difficult, complicated and of very little use to the average Forumite. As you said, quoting something from a serious scientific paper is not only time consuming to follow up, but also difficult to understand. I don't want to spend hours and hours searching websites to get to an answer. Then I loose speed and abandon the quiz.

I cannot partake in the No Kudu Horns quiz and have been banned from the Easy Quiz, so where does that leave me, or for that matter, most of the forumites.

I don't have a clear answer but Imberbe is thinking in the right direction.

You see, IB, you simply took my essay and paraphrased it, which is the perfect way that a person formulating an answer to a question should summarise the reams of information at hand, and present them.  Neither too much of an answer, nor too little; nor too complicated or too basic. Ok all you fabulous quizzers :D - it's time for some thinking

There are some very old and "dead" quizzes in here - do we file them or do we revive them? Do you know that some quizzes were last active in 2007  Please have a look, when you have a minute, to see which of the very old one's you would like to give a bash at trying to revive and get going again.

It would be great to note here what you would like to see in the quizzes. Feel free to put forward any ideas or thoughts here at anytime!
Thanks

I had to double check that I was reading correctly when I got a notification from this topic

There are so many great quizzes from long ago (not forgetting the more current), would be great to see them up and running again  :D

Thanks for the reply oddesy - have to agree with you. There are some fantastic quizzes offering so much info on these pages!! I am sure together we can get them back to where they were.

I know this question has been asked before.... the RV quizzes, do they stop some of you from taking part? What if we try them as OQ's for a while and see if we get more mites participating? Just a thought :)

Thanks for your input picnic - I know how much you enjoy the RV quizzes and can tell they don't put you off in anyway
I just feel it might encourage more people to participate, worth a try. Will wait a few days to see what other quizzers think.

:D I definately can!!!
In last years Forum Awards there was still the category for Quiz Whiz of the Year - if that's what you are referring to. OWN current holds the title. I am sure it will be around again this year

We're on our way to Kruger for - we're praying - the greatest trip EVER! If there are any questions I have left unattended, and which need rounding off, please will one of my most-able fellow quizzers (which is all of you  ) grab the reins and drive it to its conclusion.
