Just a curious question, does that quote come from a book? Because I know I've seen it before bit can't remember where........?

Yes, it is printed in a book "Where to watch game in the Kruger National Park" by Nigel Dennis. Sorry I should have quoted that after you got the correct answer. I found the maps good in this book and thats where I found the "secret" water hole off the S39.

There are some wonderful drive in & reverse out lookouts on S39 !
