Thanks PNF.

My question will be about two NP: Name the two NP's that have a connection with a town/city of the same name. The town / city are not the same place, but share the same name. Both are near the coast and in Africa.

OWN is nearly there with one correct. Think about the Greeks and Pharos (332 - 280 BC) and connect North Africa with South Africa.

OWN you guessed correct

The connection was Alexandria. The lighthouse in Agulhus was design from or replica of the lighthouse built 280 BC in Alexandria, Egypt.

The coastal section of Addo is close to the town of Alexandria and you will find the Alexandria hiking trail in this NP.

The highest peak in South Africa outside the Drakensberg range can be seen from this National Park. Which peak and which national park?

Seweweekspoort peak = 2325 metres maybe visible from the Karoo National Park on a good day.

Nice try, GMLS, but there is a higher peak that I am looking for, observable from another NP.

:hmz: The only high peak that I then can think of is the Maluti mountain peaks - which falls part of the Drakensberg range - which can be seen from Golden Gate???? :hmz: :hmz: :hmz:

Again, nice try, WFG. However, the Maluti peaks near Golden Gate all fall within the Drakensberg range. Virtually all of the highest peaks in SA do fall within this range, but I'm looking for the highest peak outside the range that can be seen from a national park. This peak is a standalone that dominates the surrounding area.

If you ever drive through Graaff Reinet and have a bit of time, visit the Camdeboo National Park, spend some time and looking in the northerly direction and you will see the (2502 m) Kompasberg summit in the Sneeuberge.
