If I killed every one of them off today, this animal would begin to expand its numbers again tomorrow! What animal is this?

One of these insect gogga thingies that live only a day in any case. Thus, already having laid their eggs it doesn't matter that you kill them all off - they'd have died off anyways.

BUT, what they are, I have no idea.

Nice lateral thinking there, Bish ... but, no. Killing off every one of its species means eggs and goggas too.
JJ, another creative spin on things, but the butterfly is not the answer. I'm thinking bigger animals ...

Riddles usually have a twist in them, so I do not expect a simple scientific answer will do!

Thought it might be 'you' as you would still be alive if you killed all the rest of your own species....but then a small problem with the expanding numbers again..... But still suspect the answer is something along those lines????

Ah, OWN's being sneaky here again. Something that doesn't come from itself.

Mule. Comes from a cross between a horse and a donkey, and is usually sterile. Or similar.

JJ, great try again with planaria, but I'm saying if I killed them all, not simply split them.
EJ, excellent thinking there, but no, not myself, because, as you rightly say, I couldn't expand my numbers again without a suitable receptacle.

BISH, top logical thinking, exactly as we always expect from you!!

MULE it is! :D

Thanks for trying JJ and EJ. I like your butterfly concept too, JJ, as, technically, a butterfly doesn't come from a butterfly, so nice spin on things there that I didn't initially consider.

Okay, another logical one - no sneakiness:

What would be twice as cold as the boiling point of water?

Thanks OWN...

The new one... :hmz: Is that in physically, as in temperature? Thus around 50 degree Celsius? (Note, around, as up here boiling point it in the order of 95 degrees and not 100 degrees as as sea level.)

Or a logical thing again, something like the freezing point?

I understand how you arrived at 50 degrees Celsius (with a delightful adjustment for altitude   ), but how do you "logically" arrive at the freezing point as being twice as cold as the boiling point, Bish?
