I'm not sure if this applies to all caracals, but:
- the back of the ears a dark, grizzled gray;
- the front of the ears tan with a prominent band of furry, grey-white;
- the rest of the ear tan, with prominent black tufts sticking out from the tips of the ears.

the hippo does not have sweat glands, it relies on water and mud to keep it cool. The hippo has special glands that secrete red fluid. This fluid has created the myth that hippos sweat blood. This fluid may also help the hippo keep cool.

YEP .... Hippos do not have sweat glands; instead they use river water to keep them cool, and produce a pinkish mucus that works as a sunblock.

The Mountain Gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) belongs to the eastern gorilla species, which also includes the Eastern Lowland Gorilla (Gorilla beringei graueri). There are two populations of G. b. beringei. one among the volcanoes of the Virunga Massif at the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda and Uganda, the other in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwest Uganda on the border with DRC.The Bwindi Mountain Gorilla could be a third subspecies, Gorilla beringei bwindi (Sarmiento et al., 1996), but the taxonomic status of the populations is as yet unclear (McNeilage et al., 2001).
