Then a tree made of canvas, Tamboti.

Head off east along this beautiful land.

Perhaps you might notice a drink for a house
Or a tree made of canvas, not fit for a mouse.

Now, stay close to the water along the way.
Although, it’s quite bitter, the Shangaan people say!
Timbavati River – The name is of Shangaan origin and mean ‘bitter water’ or ‘brackish water’

Many bushbucks may drink there, under the sky,
For it has been said, it will never run dry.
The explanations ‘river that never runs dry’ and ‘many bushbuck’ have also been recorded.

You should now be approaching the place of the frogs
Makukutswana – The name is of Tsonga origin meaning ‘place of the frogs’
Unless you’ve been held up by a sighting of dogs!
