:hmz: As far as I know the Baobab returns to the earth extremely quickly due to its soft stem. I believe that within a few months there is hardly any evidence that the tree ever existed.

And now for the next tree! How about a cryptic clue?

If you were driving a Mercedes Benz and a baboon ripped off your 3 pointed star... which tree might assist in a temporary solution?

Well, how about using di-vine providence, for di vine could be wrapped around the broken star, temporarily holding it in place until full repairs can be effected?

Then again, the inner bark of the marula tree makes a fine rope that could serve the same purpose as the vine. :hmz:

 Very creative OWN... but alas the incorrect tree! Imagine the Baboon ran off with the hood ornament and you needed a new one... :hmz:

Sorry Heksie not the tree I am thinking of. Trees often trimmed into attractive garden shrubs! Beautiful scented white flowers ageing to yellow.

 Nope! This tree has lovely glossy green leaves... and because of its growth form if one breaks off a twig you may get lucky and see the branchlets off the main stem giving the appearance of a 3 pointed star. Fruit is encased in a pod!

Alas no Heksie! :naughty: Let's go over the evidence. Branchlets in whorls of 3 (mercedes reference), leaves glossy dark green, flowers white ageing to yellow, ovoid fruit covered with whitish to grey wart-like lenticels and popular in the urban garden. 8)
