Which tree's bark is sometimes chewed/sucked on by game in order for them to hydrate themselves?

I'm not sure if there's more than one kind of tree's bark that they eat on for hydration, but i'm thinking it is boabab.

Thanks OWN.

Q: I'm a thorny shrub (can grow to a tree-size), with flowers that looks like fried eggs. My fruit is mostly used for snuff-boxes. I grow in the northeastern part of Southern Africa. I am a protected shrub/tree in South Africa. What's my name.

Phokojwe, just to be sure you and I are talking about the same tree, can you give the scientific name too.
I know this tree have more than one name. The afrikaans name for it translates to something close to what you said.

Because of the hard-shelled fruits. Not easy to break when dry. (Even used it for rattles.)
