"Aloe Dichotoma/Quiver tree....Known as Choje to the indigenous San people.

"There are 3 Quiver tree species in South Africa – the more widespread Aloe Dichotoma, the shrub-like maiden Aloe Ramosissima and the critically endangered Aloe Pillansii, also called the Giant Quiver tree.
The Giant Quiver tree is classified as critically endangered. It occurs in a narrow band and its southernmost range is well above the Tropic of Capricorn. Their numbers have diminished steadily, in part because of goats and plant collectors, and also because climatic conditions have affected seedling growth".

 To all.

Remember: What tree is known as the "Choje tree", and how many species do you get?

A guess (Nossob is the one camp I have not been to in KTP):
Two of the dominant tree species in KTP, the camel thorn (Acacia erioloba) and the grey camel thorn (Acacia haematoxylon) often hybridise with one another to produce a tree that combines characteristics of both species- thus making identification difficult?

This is a guess...

There are both Camelthorn (Acacia haematoxylon) and Glandular/Honey mesquite (Prosopis glandulosa/torreyana) trees present in Nossob and the mesquite is said to resemble a species of Acacia :hmz: :hmz:

Easy one :hmz:

The fruit of which tree is very juicy and aromatic and is the size of a small plum. It may be eaten fresh and the flesh has an extremely high vitamin C content. It may also be cooked to produce jam, juices and alcoholic beverages.

Another one of my all time favourite trees! Tears and agriculture go hand in hand to enable us to find the name of a tree in this leguminous crop! I hope this is not TOO easy!
