I am not good with question but will give it ago.

I am the only bird than can stand in very caustic / saline water, which will burn other animals. If my chicks fall out of their nest they will be killed. Who am I and where in Africa will you find the largest breeding colony of us.

I am not found in many SANP, but where will you have the luck of spotting me.

Flamingo? Lake Nakuru?

Yes you correct on the flamingo. I was thinking of Lake Natron, but both these lakes are in the Great Rift Valley and must be attracting more or less the same number of flamingoes.

What is interesting is the fact that the flamingoes cannot drink the water they feed in and need to get fresh water elsewhere.

The other part of the question is where can you find flamingoes in SANParks? You IT if you can answer that.

Well, I've only been to Kruger, and I don't think there are flamingoes there. Since I'm not south-african, I don't know the other parks well, so hopefully google will be my friend.

I'm going to guess Karoo.

Yes it can be possible to seem flamingo in Karoo as long as its not a dry season, but the best spots will be West coast Nat Park, Namaqua Nat Park and a possibility at Mokala in flight. There used to be a large breeding colony at Kamfersdam near Kimberley, which is close to Mokala.

Other places I've spotted flamingoes were at the Olifants river mouth (west coast) and Virginia Freestate. Even near Joburg you can spot flamingo if you lucky at Marievale. (and the zoo )

Which bird is usually seen flying fairly low to the ground in open and lightly wooded areas? When flying they often turn into the wind with tail spread and wings fanning. They specialize in grasshoppers and also feed on swarming termites, small mammals, birds, and lizards.

The do not build a nest and lay 3-4 eggs on an earth scrape in a cliff hollow, riverbank, building nook, or nest abandoned by another bird.

Both sexes have a black teardrop line below the eye.
