Thank you to you all.

I made a list of all the lovely places that you have mentioned, and I will make it my goal to visit them (Kruger is big and time so little).

A special moment that you will cherish for the rest off your life includes the experience of sight, smell and sound. We go back to those special places to recreate that experience. It is during our search for that special moment that we stumble (by accident) upon the greatness of nature to surprise us.

Our family experience such a moment one night at Berg-en-Dal. Our bungalow was right next to the fence. We were relaxed under the stars, ready to have dinner when the silence was suddenly broken by a ferocious attack of a lion on an unknown animal. It must have been only a couple of meters away. The roars and cries felt as if it lasted an eternity. We just sat there and stared at each other in amazement  .

My favorite spot - me in Kruger on search... :D

I love Sunset dam, the animals don't stop coming.
One lazy afternoon I was sitting there watching the hippo and on the left baboons came to drink, but on the right came impala. They were gone within three minutes.
Also seen a massive lion close-by in the early morning. He had a dark mane and was with a female.
And that's nothing!!

Skukuza camping site. This is where my dad took us every year from 'those early' days. There were no fences and if you were not in your tent by 9pm, you could be sure to see hyaena around the dustbins or around the tents and caravans. Ok, this is my favourite 'spot', but now that i am all grown up and have to choose a 'spot' for viewing game, I would have to say, the two bridges crossing over Lower Sabi River from Skukuza and the bridge crossing over from Lower Sabi towards H10. Oh, and I must just mention a visit to the reception area at Skukuza where you can smell the 'potato bush' is also my favourite 'spot'. Oh, gosh, no wait, what about in front of the restaurant at Skukuza by the big tree, sigh. Before Skukuza modernised, that area was just grass and after dinner, us youngsters used to play games on the lawn there. Those were the days!

I also have some very fond memories of Skuks as a yound child!
Those were the days! It used to be such a great camp in terms of not being nearly as busy as it is now :?

mmm, well now, wildman, maybe we used to play games there together eh? My dad used to always take friends with and I would then also have a friend during our stay in the Park. I remember sitting in front of Restaurant at Olifants looking out over the river our feet dangling off, which almost touched the water. Is this just my imagination or was the water that high? I know as a youngster things look different to what they are when you grow up. My dad was also one of the first ten Honorary Rangers then. Trips to Kruger with my dad that always stood out and is no more now was when Leeupan was always full and we always found lots of lion there. Lots of cars would pile up that one would actually be sick of seeing so much lion. Do you remember this?

This is difficult.

It is not holiday if we didn't had breakfast at Nkhulu. :lotsocoffee:

Mlondozi dam because it is quiet, high with good sightings. Our whole family ashes will be scattered there. Sister-in-law's 18 month old little girl ashes already scattered there and in a weeks time both my in-law's ashes will be scattered there.

Thanks arks... i knew i should know!!! :?

Yes, i have been on this road quite a few times and have had many good sightings ... on one night drive saw leopard, lions, elephants and buffalos within a few kms of each other... on same stretch of road... our guide was most impressed! 8)

My favourite spot in the park: Any of the Entrance Gates to KNP
Seriously, because i can visit very often, and enjoy the animal and bird varities regulary seen there - Ntandanyathi Hide - gets my vote

My favourite spot in my absolute favourite place on earth? - a very difficult choice!! If I have to choose, it will be somewhere in the north. Tshanga lookout is a definite contender - I have very fond memories of me and my father climbing that koppie on numerous occasions. But I think I must agree with Muhammad - the road next to the Kanniedood Dam. How I long to be there right now!!!!
