Longwe lookout is on the S62, longwe road. Well worth the effort, the view is stunning! I have a pano somewhere, let's see.. Found it, but not the pano. So that will come later, here is a bit from last years tripreport:

Longwe has a great view! As you can see you can see all over the Engelhard Dam, but not the dam itself. When you drive back down there is a little loop which will bring you to the dam itself. The next turnoff goes to Anna Ledeboer's grave, where you have a great view of the dam as well, but from the other side.

There is a turnoff to Matambeni Hide as well, which is more than worth the effort.

Stunning photos DuQues! I have never been there (yet). As soon as I think I know everything I learn something new.
Thanks

This is a difficult one. If I HAVE to pick it would be a late afternoon at Engelhard dam. Close second would Sunset dam early morning with minimal people around.

Tshanga is one my favourites . 20 years ago I discovered that a person can clamber over the edge onto a ledge . I take my camping matress , pillows and provisions for an afternoon to enjoy the vista over the plain to the east , and with the Tshanga stream in the foreground I have enjoyed many afternoons without people being able to see me , and also hearing no noise from cars arriving & departing .

I too think that Tshanga is my favourite spot in KNP. Ndloti your camping mattress sounds wonderful but......many years ago we spent a few nights at Bateleur. Early one morning we went directly to the lookout as we wanted to have a cup of coffee and to watch the sunrise. On arrival, coffee in hand I bounded up the path to the the top.....and saw the backside of a very big leopard as it bounded down the other side towards the riverbed below......I don't know who got the biggest fright, me or the leopard  My SO knows that this is where I want my ashes scattered, and from reading the thread it sounds like it could get pretty "ashy" up there

No matter where we are in Kruger my dad, now 87, says "Can we go to the hide?".

Mantambeni hide north of Letaba. I haven't let him down yet.

Some of my favourites are:

the Olifants lookout... I scattered my Mom and Dad's ashes there a few years back and that's where I hope my family will do the same with mine when the time comes.

Nsemani and Girivani dams are also high on my list of favourite places. I have had some really lovely sighting experiences at both of them.

Biyamiti Weir, just above the weir, looking up the mostly dry river bed. You just get a very special feeling while sitting there. Partly anticipation and the other pure serenity!

Having named them, I have to admit that anywhere in Kruger is wonderful for me..
The feeling you get when you drive thro' the gate, on arrival at Kruger is pure joy! You enter a different world!

I cannot make up my mind. The patio of no. 7 at Sirheni as night covers the camp. Babalala at sundowner time when there are no other guests around. First cup of coffee while watching the park wake at any of the hides. Looking into the bushveld wood fire with lions grunting not too far away. Sorry, I can't decide, but this topic has certainly brought many wonderfull memories back.
