INDEX to the best unit numbers

Unread postby roaneric » Thu Aug 22, 2013 8:38 pm

Hi Everyone :yaya:

I get this question a lot... Which unit is the best? So I thought it's easy to make an index list of the best located bungalows/tents/huts, especially for those people who want to request the best units and don't have time to read through all the different topics.

Now, this is just my opinion, and please feels free to give your opinion on which units you think is just as good or even better, and I will add them to the index list.

By requesting a unit, you can e-mail, fax or telephone the camps directly. Here you can find the addresses and numbers

What an awesome idea, roaneric! The only real disappoint we had on our last trip was not being in the know on the best units, and how to go about requesting them. This is great.

Hi guys,

This is why I love the forum because you get so much useful info.
In all the years going to Kruger I was not aware that one can request a specific unit number, but where do I do this. Do I contact central reservations or the specific camp?

PietSkiet you must contact the camp about 2 or 3 weeks before you arrive, they will ask you for your reservation number, I've found the camps very helpful when requesting a specific unit

Hi Pietskiet,

I just booked specific unit numbers for the first time for our trip in November. I emailed the camps directly and they were very helpful with their replies that my request has been attended to. The camp email addresses are under the KNP Camps & Roads topics at the top. Hope this helps!

:hmz:

I've never requested a specific unit before, but have just been advised by Tyron at Reservation House that if I want a LST2U Safari Tent at Lower Sabie that actually have a river view, I have to contact the camp and ask for one with a river view... :?

So, which e-mail should I use? The Duty Manager's e-mail or perhaps the Hospitality Services Manager's e-mail? Or is there another e-mail of someone that specifically deals with unit assignments?

Fax: +27 (0)13 735 6062

I don't see there e-mail address, but they will ask you to send them an e-mail as well, then that person can just give you the correct e-mail address.

Hi

we recently stayed in BD3U units nrs 106 and 108 in Olifants. Unit 106 is definitely a better option at this time due to a tree blocking 108's view and nr 106 being at the end of the row.

Still amazing accommodation in any event! We had a visit by a honey badger at the fence whilst braaiing

Does anyone have any suggestions about Mopani? We are in a BD4 but according to the map they seem to be scattered around a bit. It's our first time staying in Mopani so I would be really grateful for a suggestion.
