The three-bed communal huts are right behind the units being refurbished. We stayed recently in BD3U (No 20) and the noise was not pleasant. I agree with the comment about the chain saw - seemed to go all day long. So I would imagine it will be even worse at the three-bed units. Also they have their "builders yard" behind the communal huts next to the swimming pool.

Oh dear...I have just requested unit number 20 for our visit in four weeks' time....

We are staying in that BD3U for two days and then moving to FU4V (next to the Keartland Guest house, I think number 94) for another two.

For the four bed family unit, the reservation states that there is construction taking place close by, but nothing for the three bed unit.

Should I change the request for number 20 to another unit? (But I think there is construction at the lower numbers too...or the other guest house at the restaurant end). Would it make a difference at around number 8 or so?

And should I check for an availability of a three bed unit over the four bed?

Aai-ja-jaai!

Rooikat, they are working at the guest house next to the restaurant, but it was not generating noise like this other construction work. Maybe try and request BD3U units closer to restaurant side ?? The main noise problem is the chain saw.

Agree with WildThing - try for about #10 BD3U. The chainsaw and angle grinder just somehow ruin the ambience of why we go to Kruger!!!!!

Thanks for the comments, WildThing & Safari Gal.

Will send in a new request - will try to find out which BD3U around number 10 still has a river view. As I recall it there is a bush/trees in front of some units round about there?

Which side of the pool is the builders yard? If it is closest to the river, then it is about right behind the FU4V's (number 94)?!

It is getting complicated to try and find the best combination at Lower Sabie at the moment....

The builders yard is on the far side of the pool close to the entrance to the staff area.

Can anyone give an update on the construction?

We stayed at Lower Sabie in bungalow no. 14 for four nights (from 13 -16 October 2013), with refurbishing going on behind no. 16, and they were digging a ditch for an electric cable right in front of our bungalow, without any noise at all. We cannot complain at all!

Maybe because we leave camp early (at gate opening time) and return between 4 and 6 pm. They normally stopped working at 5 o'clock. Not even our neighbours on both sides, whom we talked to every evening, complained about any noise. So sad if you experienced it differently! :(
