I was also impressed with the range - & especially the fresh items - at the Punda Maria shop. I did not eat at the Punda restaurant, but I always stop at. Shingwedzi's restaurant & it was excellent: good food, nice selection & variey (lots better than M&B at both Letaba & Satara) & the best service by far!

Hello all,

I read an article a while back that Punda Maria had been damaged by rains and repairs would only take place when the whole camp was renovated. Does anyone have any information regarding this or perhaps know of the current condition of the camp (especially the campsites)?

Thanks!

I am not sure when you saw that Meerkitty but Dinkybird and Hawk have just camped there, last week in fact and no problems with that or the camp/restaurant itself.
Plus the fact that they are taking bookings means all is OK.

I've just returned from Punda Maria and I have to say the Camp is looking great. The campsite was clean with the bins being emptied every day. There are a few Monkeys around so make sure everything is locked. The pool was crystal clean and very refreshing.
The shop was very well stocked, very nice selection of meats with fresh veggies (carrots, potato's, tomato's and a selection of fruit) fresh bread and just generally well stocked.
I did not eat at the restaurant but the food smelled great.
There is definitely no flood damage, just in my opinion a nicely run clean camp.

One of our favourite camps! Always neat and tidy, well-run and birds a-plenty.... Love it! And the hide provides hours of great entertainment. :-)
