We have three nights here in May - how are the camp sites along the fence(if there are any)? We are not so much concerned about shade.

Was there a week ago, but did not use Numbi. Other people used it while we were there, and heard no serious complaints.
Did NOT see the usual amount of predators, but the cheetah male(s) was seen twice by my neighbour, just west of Transport dam on the H1-1 very early in the morning. I missed it by 1 minute, and he saw it right behind me. I did NOT find the cheetah near Phabeni crossing, but same neighbour found 3 young cheetah there in the road! Saw 1 wild dog on same S3 road, about 3 km before Phabeni tar crossing, closer to Numbi. Apparantly the pack are in that area regularly.
Did think I would see nothing around Fayi loop, but neighbours saw big herd of buffalo, we saw about 10 sable and breeding herds of elephant every day.
Enjoy.

God bless,

Friedrich von Hörsten

Hi

We are booked into a BG6 unit at Pretoriuskop, I would like to know if the bathroom facilities are directly accessible from the sleeping areas or are they only accessible via the veranda

From the pics I have seen it does look as if the bathroom might access from the veranda, but I'm not certain.

Hi andrew1nesbitt.

We stayed in a BG6 before, and the bathroom was only accesable via the verandah.

Hope this helps.

HI Helpful Formites:
Trying to book the best possible accommodation in Pretoriuskop (June 2015) but see the map and ID's are a bit confusing. I have booked BD2M thinking that is as near to the perimeter as you can get..., but now thinking I may be wrong. Can you tell me what is the best accommodation in this camp and what is the ID for that location and where on the map it is??

Thank you!!!
Dana

Hi Dana

We stayed in 133, and I would say 134 is even better as next to the fence. But any of those, 117 -134 are nicely situated.

I think the one D is for a double bed, and the V for a view.
133 etc

map

travelstory, i have stayed in pretoriouskop on every trip i have made to kruger, when i lived in SA it was the only camp i stayed at. the nearest accommodations to the fence is either of the guesthouses, i have only stayed in the Doherty Bryant Guest House (GH9B), and the camp site close to the fence. in january i stayed in BD2M and the accommodation is excellent, its in circle. Pretoriuskop is one of my favourite camps, the only other camps i really love are olifonts and letaba. All of these are excellent if you want total peace and quiet

Thank you for the link with the images. Do you know, though, which units have the best view or are on the perimeter?
Thank you so much!!

Hi Everyone.

I have been trying to determine what type of accommodation to book at Pretoriuskop and am now confused. I saw the thread with the new numbering and looked at the photos. My confusion is over the BD2D vs BD2. On the official site SANParks says the BD2D has a double bed, then in the official pictures it shows two beds. Does anyone know if the double bed is really 2 singles just pushed together (thus why the photo shows 2 separate?). If this is the case, what makes it different than the BD2?

Thanks for any enlightenment you can offer.

Sara

Hi Sara

Please have a look at Wildkyker's photos of BD2D no 132 here.
I think the 4th pic shows a double bed.
Hope you will get more info from other 'mites.
