Hi.

We are going to Punda Maria from Johannesburg. Which road will be the best to take. If we decide to stay over for the night near Punda Maria any suggestions of a good hotel.

Thanks.

Dikkes

Dikkes, Polokwane, Machado, then kick right past Thoyandou, the road is great, and you can sleep over in Polokwane at various places. Or even Machado. Are you camping, or Hotelling I can PM you.

BTW, Punda is the best camp ever.

Hi Scipio,

Thanks for your reply. This will be our first time to Punda Maria. We have been to Kruger many times but never to Punda Maria. Please pm me. We are not camping, so it will have to be hotelling.

Thanks.

Hi Dikkes!

Another route that you might want to consider is via Pafuri Gate. It is a very good road. We drove it the last week in Sept - and it was a pleasure. It is then a bit of a drive down to Punda - but through one of the nicest and most scenic areas in the park. If you do decide to use this route - do stop at Pafuri Picnic site - it is my favourite picnic site in KNP!

Hi, we will be in Kruger from this Saturday for 12 nights. Our last night is in Punda Maria. We need to catch a flight from JNB the following evening (just before midnight). How much time should we allow from Punda to JNB

Thanks

To err. on the safe side I should say 8 hours. But traffic jams during peak times might be a problem. If you go through Pretoria before about 4pm you should be cool. Or after 7pm, but depending on you boarding time.

Thanks for the quick reply Scipio, I think we'll allow 10 hours to be sure

Hi Scipio

Please can you pm me places to stay. I will be travelling from Bloemfontein up to Punda and i need a place to stay up north somewhere for a night as i think i wont make it all the way in 1 day. I will be leaving at 03H00 in the morning in December. I will be towing my caravan.

Thanks
