Hi all

Good initiative BUT looking at the pictures, I am very concerned about field fires because I don`t see a lot of clearance / open space next to the tables and benches!!

It looks very beautiful. It seems to be part of the innitiative to involve local communities.

Very rustic, very wild. In keeping with the stategy of simplicity. I suppose fire is always a potential problem, even in a place that is well developed.

I may be wrong but it does appear that they will only allow you to use Gas braais at the picnic site.

Although still a risk gas braais will reduce the risk of veld fires.

Good day all

More photos available here.

http://www.sanparks.org/gallery/index.php/parks/kruger

Biggest worry for accidental fres are not from the gas braais, but from irresponsible smokers.
It appears as if you will do some walking from the parking area to the picnic spots along pathways
surrounded by field ( very dry at this time )

Looks very peaceful and quiet though.
I am sure we will soon get feedback from somebody who has actualle been there!

I would say that is true of many areas in the park, and we must just hope that people will be very vigilant at all times when braaing or smoking.
