Shingwedzi river dry or not?

Hallo there,
is the river in Shingwedzi dry or not?

Just come from there - dry! There are some pools of water around though.
Smiling is contagious. Start an epidemic today!

Have you read the entrance permit? Do you KNOW the Conditions of Entry?

Completed over 6 years in Kruger in my caravan.

If I was normal I wouldn't be me!

As a general rule, i think the water only runs after new year......

We were also at Shingwedzi, last week of Sept - and the river is extremely dry. A pic of the causeway:

And Kanniedood Dam... the name is a bit misleading if you see it as we did! :?

When we were there in Sept - bone dry:

Would love to see it with all the waterbirds there...

After being closed for so long following the terrible floods of last year, Good news!

Staff did tell us that if the water level rose above a certain level it would close again - so it should be open for a few more months at least (rain permitting :twisted: )

Hi Bushbuddies,

This is the view we had end April 2014. The trees are still standing, but lots of sand around the causeway making it less of a risk to drive off the bridge. :wink:
