I must say that one of the nicest places to camp is Berg en Dal... until the weekend that is.
People started arriving on the Friday evening, long after the gates closed to set up camp. I could have been tolerant of the neon lights that were shining into our tent and even the noises of the camp being set up. But the music blaring from the car sound systems! The loud chatter of people from across the campsite! This went on until about 1am.
Then there was the morning where the teenage boys had taken to throwing small rocks at the primates for stealing food off of an unattended table. Pack your food away and they won't bother you!
We did report them, but the following night followed a very similar pattern.
I did take a little pleasure in knowing that after everyone had left camp on the Saturday the monkeys decided to occupy their camp - they made quite a mess! Apparently primates do get their revenge because no other sites were touched
We've only camped there once, so please let me know if we were just unlucky

Other than that, I will rate any place where you can set camp in KNP with all of the stars in the sky!
Staying in a chalet or hut just about kills the experience of being in the bush

I am actually reluctant to stay anywhere that I can't set up my own tent. The comforts of home are also more appreciated after you've roughed it and the stories funnier when you relate them.
