Amino, I have always found the H-7 a very fruitful road. It is very scenic and the roads off it are also good game viewing roads. You will love your time at Tamboti

Let me list what we've seen along this road -

Lions - countless times, Wild dog, Rhino, Elephant, jackal hunting newborn Blue wildebeest, countless good bird ticks, in December last year we missed the cheetah because the vehicle we were in was too low (they're regularly seen around the Orpen Webcam, especially in the mornings), Buffalo, Elephant.

We travel up and down this road when we stay at Satara. Who wants the S100?

Hey Amino :D

On the 7th of September (yesterday) wild dogs were seen on the H7 near the tamboti/maroela side.
Then a lone cheetah near Bobbejaanskrans,
and 2 lionesses lying in the open near Nsemani dam :D

Personally, I have seen wild dogs, leopard, and many many lions on the H7  It is my 'Cat road'

Amino to us personally this road had always been and still is the most productive from a sightings perspective - apart from seeing the big five on this road we have also seen cheetah, wild dog, python, jackal, stunning birds of prey, beautiful trees and many other wonderful living things. Enjoy Tamboti in October and wishing you good and interesting sightings

Amino the H7 is a very productive road! Have often seen the big 5, including cheetah and wild dog along it. Not only that, but the scenery is also special, especially the section that passes alongside the river

Also don't forget to try out the S39/S40/S41 to timbavati picnic spot, the timbavati road this time of year should be great for sightings with animals flocking to areas where they can obtain water from (timbavati closely follows a river).

Most importantly enjoy!

Our last visit to KNP was in May this year . On the last morning , leaving , just after Nsemani dam , a leopard crossed the road right in front of our vehicle . Then , about 5 kilometers further on there were 2 lion couples a few meters from the road . Just before Bobbejaankrans 2 rhino's , then an ellie close by the road , and last but not least , a herd of buffs , bedded down a couple hundred meters from the road , near the turn-off to the S-39 .- The big-5 , on one road , all within one hour , on our last morning , just as if to put the cherry on top of our visit and inviting us to come again soon :D Which is exactly what we are doing , leaving Worcester tomorrow morning early for our next visit

I always love driving this road amino.

We usually have great sightings. I agree with all the previous posters.

Nice to see the doggies are back. We saw them 7 km from Orpen.

Yip great road, but is fast becoming on of those dreaded gate roads which means it is traffic all day long.

Last Monday on our way out we came across a pride of Lions that were feeding on a Buffalo near Nsemani dam.. in about 10 mintues of us sitting there, about 30 cars piled up to the sighting, but for some reason Satara was freakishly busy last weekend and for a while I thought it was school holidays or something.

I have also found Leopard on the road, which I had to myself for 5 sec's before it disappeared.

The junction at the S40 gravel road is also a known hotspot for Cheetah, so keep them eyes peeled.

hi amino
there is a big pride of lions around the Nsemani dam at present-saw them on a wildebeest kill last week-fantastic sighting with about 7 little ones also trying to get some food while the 2 big males tried their utmost best to finish off the wildebeest themselves.
