When we were in a LSabie tent in early Aug ’09 the nights did get a bit shivery.

The sound of a Leopard calling at the fence just a few meters away gave us an altogether different sort of shivers though!! :D

Camping near the fence gives you a much better “Sound Safari” than the huts, while you’re there, you could make a great night time tick list of identified animal sounds!

Come to think of it, I may do just that this AUG!! :hmz:

Just make sure you leave the tent entrance firmly locked and use the metal lockup cages when you are away. The thieving skills of the Baboons are seriously impressive.

Got me all excited now,

have a Great Trip.

What is the best safari tent to stay in at Letaba when taking the view and shade into consideration?

Hi coisjvr
The best tents are Nos 4-5-6-7 and 8 which are along the fence which is patroled by animals day and night. The ablution block and kitchen are behind the tents.

Agreed!

Shade? We are only there in the early morning and late afternoon.

We stayed in a safari tent in July 2012 in Tamboti (tent number 3) for 7 nights ,cold but not unbearable, no creepy crawlies maybe because it was winter,we did hear something creeping around at night, might have been the honey badger or civet that are regular visitors, we are booked to stay in Letaba and Tamboti in Dec 2013, both in a safari tent again

DOOM in the Kruger  Isn't the Kruger about nature conservation? Why would you want to spray creepy crawlies with a Doom? Why not just try get them out of your tent by opening doors/windows? Or try picking them up with a dust scoop/piece of paper??

Have to agree with Tent Dweller here - Doom in Kruger to kill the insects :naughty: :naughty:

Perhaps you should look for another destination to visit with your Doom Sheenaugh-Lee
