We will be in the Kruger for the day on Saturday and was wondering which route to take, we'd like to spend the whole day there and will entering through Phabeni and would prefer to exit through Numbi(we're staying in Hazyview with family). Malelane and Orpen are optional extras to exit at.

Are any of the roads closed and which ones would you suggest to take?

Havn't been in Kruger since October, so quite excited about spending the day there!

I would mainly keep to the gravel roads as far as possible. Maybe head towards the S3, the Fayi loop and onto the Voortrekker road. Nice brunch at Afsaal and from there the S114 through Biyamiti weir. Good options from there either the H5 or S21. Back to skukuza and along the H1-1 doing transport dam, napi rocks loop and shitlhave dam if time allows.

If your car likes gravel, I would agree with Markus about doing the less traveled roads. I am wondering if the Voortrekker road is still ok. It was great to travel after it had been graded and given a bit of extra attention.. then came the rain.. and more rain.

Has anyone driven it lately?
