Sorry Caves, but i am on a quest for cats or wild dog.
Been in Kruger twice as a adult and over a total of 15 days over two trips have only seen one male lion.

And when i read the report, as for example Dvz for a quick visit at Orpen, people sometimes seem to stumble accross catlike species.

But dont get me wrong, i love everything in Kruger

Saw rhino and leopard on this road. All early morning sightings. The leopard was the fourth member of the big five which we saw within three hours after leaving Croc Bridge. Also a solitary female lion one evening close to Lower Sabie on that road.

My experience on this road (I travelled it quite a few times already) urge me to say that it is one of the less "active" roads in the park. My records show that impala, warthog and steenbok tends to be here in relatively high densities (compared to the average of the park). I have seen elephant on the S82 once and also three white rhinos on one occasion. Along big parts of the road the vegetation is very dense, making it rather difficult to spot game.

My personal records suggest that the H4-2 between both S82 junctions is a slightly better route (saw lion on this part on two occasions, although in both cases it was very sick lions - probably TB)

I will be driving this road this weekend, as well as the tar counterpart next to it and will report back on Monday *RUB*

May last year my Dad and I pulled into LS and checked the sightings board. There was a leopard pin in the centre of the S82. I spoke to the person who stuck the pin in and he said there is a resident leopard at the second river crossing from LS. Another chap overheard and disappeared rather smartly.
My Dad and I got back in the car and drove down to the spot. We came across the disappearer there in his car and he said we had missed the leopard by seconds and they had seen it for a minute or so.
If I had a dollar for every "nearly" leopard I have been within a minute of - and 4 come to mind immediately, I could buy Lower Sabie!
