Finally I think I am ready to place some of my pictures. Please consider this a test.

If it works, the picture was taken near Pafuri Picnic Site in the Luvhuvu River.

See the sun set, while sipping from a glass of wine in the middle of the bush.

Could someone tell me where the Sweni hide is, and the Girivana Waterhole.

Vgstephens they are both in the Satara area.
Do you have a map?
Under Satara you have the H6, almost at the end of the H6 (before you reach N'wanetsi Damn and picnic spot) you turn right, than a short ride on the S37, there you will find the Sweni hide.
For Girvana waterhole you have to take the H7 to Orpen. Take the first dirt road to the right (S40), than first left (S12) and you have reached Girvana. If you keep following the S12 you will come to the H7 again.

For me it is Mpondo Dam. Great place for coffee, and always something happening there, though I should add not when the dam is full. Seen a beautiful pair of Tawny Eagles come to drink water, lions, buffs, elephants and bird life is terrific.

But then as mention any place is suitable-even on the N1 between Skuks and LS.

And Ngotso dams,-North and south are also great places to see animals. Little shade though, so it can get verrrrrrry hot.

Too many place to mention, but at the moment, Ngwenyeni Dam, good shade great sightings and only 10k's away.

At the moment the low water bridge close to Sweni hide is a must. There is a nice bit of water, and the birds are amazing. I spent an hour there on Sunday, and had five diffirent kingfishers around the same pool (Giant, Pied, Brown hooded, Striped & Malachite) Had loads of other birds incl. a very successful yellow billed stork.

We were at Kruger from 10 September to 5 October and visited most of the places you recommended. Real good suggestions and I will soon take time to show pictures I took there.

This one was taken at Lake Panic. Will add some more soon.



This one at Vutomi Dam. There must have been nearly a thousand buffaloes there!



These elephants enjoyed the mud at Orpen Dam.



I will sort some more out to bring to you about the places we like to spend time at.

Ai, just came across this topic and realised I HAVE to get to Kruger ASAP My friend big5spotter just left this morning, and I gotta 'keep the fortress' here in Johburg How I miss these places

'JUST' 8 weeks or so to go Come on december....Come on!!

Mlondozi Picnic spot
We sat there for 3 hours on Sunday 12 October, had lunch, saw the White Rhino come for a drink, Elephants, zebra, Wildebees (Gnu), Impala, Waterbuck, Giraffe, Warthogs and more birds than I can mention
I used to love Nkumbe, but it has gone downhill rapidly and just does not have that "special" feeling anymore

Pics of Mlondozi will help even more Nkulu, pics my friend Aaaah, miss that place as well Agree with Nkumbe, Mlondozi is much better

Was there last in Jan 2009

Nkulu, we were there on 25 October and saw many animals. The place also have good picnic facilities and it has a very good atmosphere with the view over the dam and all the wildlife one sees there.

This is one of the photos I took that day.
