Some of our favorite places to sit for a longer time in Kruger are 1) Any of the Witsand or Coetzer waterholes on the Mahonie drive outside of Punda Maria Camp 2) Pafuri picnic spot on one of those green benches next to the river bank and 3) on one of the river edge benches at the Letaba Rest Camp. The view over the Letaba River is impressive and represents for us a very distinctive Kruger scene. But to sit anywhere in Kruger for a while is great.

I would have to say that Thijongonyeni, not so sure about my spelling  , is one of the best places in the north.

The open plains and the water hole is always a good place to see animals. And one of the best spots to see Eland if you wait.....

The bird hide at Talamati Camp is also high on our list as we usually see a variety of life from this hide. It is also very quiet and the scenery is great.

Hi Grantmissy
The bird hide at Talamati, the hide at the waterhole even the dirt between cottages at Talamati, they are all my favourite place to be.
Also, as said before, just looking over the Letaba River from Letaba. Time just does not matter.

I would give anything to sit anywhere in the park right now!!! But for me the first little camp site on the Olifants back pack trail. Night time firefly show is better than anything else in the world !!

Sunset Dam.

A 'quick' gates-open coffee trip to Sunset turned into a 1.5 hour feast of nature. Missus zapped over 100 phodies.

Lake Panic normally, but yesterday it was very quiet. Not even a heron. :(

Recently we have "discovered" the Matjula waterhole near Berg-en-dal which could be quite rewarding provided you linger for a while. Some even mentioned that leopard are sometimes seen as well at thsi waterhole.

Mooiplaas (near Mopani) is really beautiful around sunset. But I don't think I'd have the guts to sit there with my back to the darkening bush...

Definitely Vutomi Dam. Unfortunately the road has been closed for some time now since the January floods
and I believe the dam is to be drained as well. A sad day for me when that happens. :(
