Hi 'Mites;

I am not sure how many have seen the pictures if the Mugg and Bean in Lower Sabie, or better yet, had a meal there :dance: I know I would love to be there :P

Here are some of the pictures.

Thanks Les :thumbs_up:

If they'd been open at around 8.30am on Monday, we would've eaten there :wall:

From someone who was totally against this concept, i think it looks good and im looking fwd to a cup of coffee on the deck one day.

Just one concern, i hope they will not chase people away who just want to sit and take in the scenery without actually eating, or close it off after hours so that we cannot sit there at night.

Oops I do hope they open earlier in future, we normally arrive at LS at about 7.30 to have breakfast, if they only open after 8.30 then it really restricts our options :hmz:

I have had my first "meal" there. The food was fresh and the prices not too bad.

I don't think that'll be a problem, Carol. It was their opening day and they still had the "construction curtains" up, so they'll probably be open much earlier on a normal day.

Lesego, is it possible to get a link so we can see the new menu they are offering in the Park.

I must make it very clear, I am in agreement with improving the campsite amenities and I believe Mugg and Bean makes available a good quality coffee/chow to visitors and should be welcomed.

However, the real test of its success will be seen in a few months time and gauged by the number of used Mugg and Bean take away coffee cups scattered along our Kruger roads. And if M&B are already one step ahead and are using bio-degradable cups, then hats off to this initiative.

years back one could get a take away meal with wooden knife and forks. Not sure if this is still the case but I hope so.

404-504,

I put it to you that the tone of your above post demonstrates that you already expect this venture to fail according to a vague and personal set of rules/ideas, regardless of your agreement with the change and your very kind clarification of your standpoint.

I, for one, will be one of those people who have been and always will be, collecting the trash alongside the road and further into the bush. This is already an issue, long before the likes of M&B and the other franchises make their presence felt. There will always be those who have no respect for the reserves we hold so dear.

Could we please give this change a chance before we rip it to pieces for what theoretically may be, and leave the micro-criticism for actual problems possibly resulting from this?

I am really looking forward to sitting on the deck again and just enjoying the Lower Sabie atmosphere. I really missed it this time. It made me realise just how special it is.
