Going to KNP next year in June/July!
What are the 3 best camps of the following:
Bateleur
Byamati
Shimuwini
Sirheni
Talamati
Balule
Tamboti
Prefarebly the 3 camps must be closer than 100 kilometres from each other.Have visited the main camps but not one of the bushveld camps yet.

I would go:
Tamboti, Balule and Shimuwini, all less than 100kms and totally different experiences and three of my favourite camps :D
Have a great trip!

Hi Amedeus,

All the bushveld camps are winners!!! Far nicer than the bigger camps as you can still enjoy the nightsounds and have a better chance on spotting your own game. In Talamati there are a few resident Scops Owls and Bateleur is an absolute gem(both camps have a permanent water hole, tx to solar panels)!! I have twisted my hubby's arm and we are off to Talamati one of these days :D :D :D . Anybody been there recently, and any sightings of mozzies? Taking my baby boy for his first visit to Paradise! Please tell me that they have updated the roads in the area, especially the Nhlanguleni/Muzandzene road  ?!

Hi leelee :D
I did not stay at Talamati on my last trip, but I did drive around there on many occasions.
The roads are still rather bumpy, but I did have some lovely sightings.
I needed to make a pit stop at Talamati and the water hole was teeming with game. Have a lovely stay.

as fot the mozzies, I saw not one.

I was bitten by a sand flea however, and I know from my last stay in Talamati, I had numerous sand flea bites.

Sirheni is by far my favourite!!! although i have not stayed there for many years. I remember when we stayed there last about ten years ago . we were sitting on the veranda of the chalet and watching a leopard in the river bed go about her business , we saw her almost everyday in the late afternoon while watching the sun set, there was also a pride of about ten lions with a buffalo kill not even 300m from the entrance to the camp as well while we were there.

Very special memories from that camp, some of my most memorable in kruger. :D

Wish i could be there now

But i would say any of the bush camps are very special, so any you choose to stay at will make for a memorable holiday. :D
