That was an incredible sighting KS, 5 Cheetah together, did you manage to get any pics or was it too exciting?

lol i did get some photos but not of the chase it happened too too quickly and by the time it was done i was shaking. yoh it was too much!!

I think this is my new favourite road in the park. On Saturday morning we found a huge male lion crossing the bridge. After that we found two male cheetahs walking in the road marking their teritory. Then we found two male lions lying in the road, and round the next corner we found 5 cheetahs in the road. Undoubtably my best sighting ever. The 4 cubs were chasing each other, playing around and just being silly. Awesome experience ! Best of all we were the only car at all these sightings !!!!

Then on Sunday morning we found an African Rock Python just before the bridge. After that we followed a black rhino in the road for about 15mins, and after Munshi we found 5 honey badgers. Shared all these sightings with one other car !

Can't wait to go back to Lower Sabie.....

Black Rhino in the road for 15 min-absolutely fantastic, you are very lucky to see all those animals in such a short peace of road!

I too drove this road on Saturday-15/11 but never had that much luck.

Got to see lots of rhino, then saw a carcass with lots of vulture activity near Muntshe mountain.

What times did you have all these sightings ? Would be really keen to know as I drove this road in the morning at about 08:30am after coming from C/Bridge.

Hi Donny - We left Lower Sabie as soon as the gates opened, and were the first car out. Luckily we saw the big male lion on the bridge, and we soon left him. He must have worked as the perfect roadblock, as we never saw another car for the rest of the morning.....

We too saw the carcass, but there was nothing around. It was still fairly dark, so we were wondering if something had brought it down during the night. We stayed for a while, but could not see any activety around. Just goes to show how quick the vultures pick it up.

I think we saw the same big male at about 7.30am. He was sleeping in the open just past the bridge headed towards CB. He had quite a following.

As your sightings have proved early morning gives you great opportunities for special sightings. I am really at what you saw on the same road.

The carcass did seem to be that of a warthog,not too sure though

we've seen many many lions, on the road, but also a few times with a kill. Once we saw a serval very close by and also tsessebe. And not to miss, many white rhinos, large herd of zebras and many ellies. When we are in Kruger, we never forget this road.

Whether hot or cold i love this road. Saw on a few occasions lion and white rhino's, plenty ellies and general game. Saw the biggest herd of buffs here.

This buffalo was immediately alongside the H10 near the S 129 turnoff last Saturday at 7:30 am - it was less than 3m from the roadside and appeared immobilised - did it provide a spectacle in the form of a kill later on ?

5 Cheetahs, but I could never get all together in one pic, the others were lying under a bush. After some time the bigger one, presumably mom, pulled the carcass into the shade - and I did not take a pic of that

And a Sharpe's Grysbok (Yes!) near Nkumbe lookout - first one ever we've seen so far south. The other sightings were in the Shingwedzi area.

A ranger told me that this road is fantastic from August to November

I have seen lions , cheetah , lots of rhino , serval , jackal and I have also seen an eland south of Nkumbe

You generally see alot of grazers on this road too

I saw my best ever (non-kill) sighting on this road last year. A SIT (serval in tree), near Muntshe waterhole.

Stunning.

It is also good for both rhino, elephant, lion & cheetah, plus big herds wander around here, as does the elusive to me, Duke.
