I was there early june 2014. The service was really well behaved and friendly.

First evening good meal, ostrich kebab and pizza margherita. Good value for money.

Second evening, same meal, topped with a greek salad. Not the same! Not well presented, and no good taste. The service realised our disapointment and offert fee coffee

I think, this was not the cook from the day before.

But give the restaurant a try, the surrounding outside is lovely, also inside it looks great. And if you are lucky, you get the first cook

Wonderful to have that to look forward to COS!

If you have a look Index to Best unit numbers you will see # 26 is listed there but sure there will be more than 1.
But sure others who have stayed in them will offer good advice.

Hi Cape of Storms. We stayed in unit 26 in Sept last year. It's by the fence and we had an elephant, warthogs, baboons, vervets, waterbuck, impala and 2 unmentionables all entertaining us. We only spent one night at Berg en Dal but it was magical :D

Hi Leena, the restaurant at B&D is according to me the best in the Park. Good quality food and fantastic service :D

:) George - of that you can be sure. Berg & Dal will be our last night and I just wanted to know whether we must eat at CB in Skukuza and drive down to B&D. But it will be so much better to sit and relax at B&D with a bottle of good wine - although I know the spirit will be down - as usual on a last night in paradise

 I know that feeling all to well. packing in the mornin with a heavy heart, sulking, sighing waiting for the sun to paint the sky purple and pink, sitting quietly waching sunrise and reflecting on what an awesome trip it was...

I'm looking forward to see the trip report when you return, Leana.

 will do so George. Yes, B&D is such a beautiful camp, but unfortunately I always associate the tar road from Skuz as well as B&D camp with going come. The only way I get myself through the exit gate at Malelane is to start planning the next visit for the next year.

Berg & Dal - does someone know the Unit 23 - Perimeter Bungalow

Dear all,

I can`t wait to go again to Kruger. This time we will have at the end of our trip Berg & Dal. We stayed there years ago and are uncertain about the accommodation.

We booked a Perimeter BA3U (2 people)

We asked if we can get Unit No. 27 or 28. Both are not available.

We explained that we would like to have a nice few into the Bush and got No. 23.

Does someone know the Unit No. 23 ?

Is this a renovated one ?
Does it have shade ?
Is this a more less quiet place, because I did read about a trail that starts behind the Guest Houses and No. 23 ist situated behind the Rhino Guest House ?

Many thanks and I hope I can get an answer,

Brigitte

Brigitte, no 23 is a renovated unit BA3U with a nice view on the dam. Have a look on the camp map. There are lots of trees around, I am sure there will be some shade. The trail in camp is all along the fence (if I remember correctly), but maybe some other 'MiteS will know better. I am sure you are going to enjoy your stay at B&D.

We had a most enjoyable breakfast at the restaurant in B & D 2 weeks ago.
We arrived at 7 am just as they were opening, were welcomed in and had great service.
Can really recommend it.
