Hi folks

I was looking at the availability of accommodation for December/Jan (yes, I've left it late I know) and see that BND have a few FA4 units available.

Maybe my eyes need checking, but for the lift of me I can't find FA4 on the camp map.

Does anyone know whereabouts these units are situated?

Thanks

Deedub, I thought you were mistaken till I checked availability!
I know they have been renovating so can only think that some of the FA6 cottages have been made into FA4 by doing away with the sleeper couch/ bunk style beds in the lounge.
That could be a great improvement in the lounge for those that don't need the extra beds!

Hi, are there any photos of the FA4 bungalows? We have a FA6 booked in September but just seen there is a FA4 available on our dates. As there are only 3 of us would swop if FA4 are renovated bungalows.

Hi Kite and Merlin

Apparently the FA4 units are 1,2,3,11,12,17,18,19. Merlin, the FA4 are the same price as the FA6.

I stayed in one of the FA6 units in September 2012, they were lovely (can't remember the number offhand, it wasn't far from reception.)

I've asked on the Facebook page if anyone has a photo, if I can get one I'll send it to you.

Dee

thanks Deedub, that's kind of you, from what you are saying it sounds like either the 4 or 6 will be good! :gflower: :gflower:

Can anyone tell me if the FA6 units at Berg-En- Dal are better or newer / or the same or worse than the FA4 units...

I am booked, but for two adults and a child and I can still change, as there are rooms available
They are the same price...

How do we choose a room number in advance please?
Castas

A warm welcome to the forum, castas :) May you find everything you wish for here (and probably a whole lot that you didn't) but it is mostly good

The FA6's are definitely bigger than the FA4's as they sleep 2 more people. "Better or newer / or the same or worse" ummmm they may be better if you're arriving with 6 people, but seeing as you're arriving with 3 you'll be okay with a FA4. A word of warning. If you have a few "visitors" that aren't human, make sure that you keep doors and windows either closed or watched at all times, and that your child does not walk around with any form of food in his/her hands. He/She WILL be mugged by the vervets, and they have very scary fangs and attitudes That said, you and your companion/girlfriend/wife must not do that either as the "visitors" will be more than a match for you. Never feed them, as that has the ultimate result of them having to be destroyed. Be wary of them at all times. Even though this problem has been cleared a few times, they have an annoying tendency to keep returning.

Choosing a room in advance is a different story. What is your preference? You can contact the camp directly on +27 (0)13 735 6106/7 and arrange your preferred accommodation. The camp map can be found here. Here's hoping that this has helped you :)

hello castas, why don't you get the unit that sleeps 3? We were in Berg en Dal in December, we are also 2 adults and 1 child and we stayed in unit number 21. It has 3 single beds, shower and toilet, fully equipped kitchen, aircon, a ceiling fan, outside braai area, it was really very well maintained and extremely clean :D :D

There has been a lot of discussion about new restaurants recently. Berg en Dal seems to be unaffected. Please let me know what the restaurant, food facilities there are like as we will be staying there next month

suebfly, the restaurant at Berg en Dal is simply awesome :gflower: :gflower: we stayed in Berg en Dal for 3 nights in December 2013, we left 01 January to move to our last camp, we decided to have breakfast because we were all packed up, the restaurant was fully operational by 8am, the service is good, the food is good, the presentation of the food is good, really good value for money, there is also a Coffee shop next to the park shop, it serves, cakes, muffins, tea/coffee, hot chocolate and other drinks, it is understandable why Berg en Dal receives the camp of the year award year after year

that is excellent news tent dweller. We are staying three nights & now I am really looking forward to it. First holiday that will be entirely in the South so although I try to go to Kruger at least twice a year there are some new camps for me. Have only stayed at B&D as a quick stop over before so this will be a new experience

Berg en dal is one of our favourites, even if we just go in to park for a day. There is a trail inside the camp that starts in front of the restaurant and end back at the reception, the last part is tricky, so we just end at the camp sites.

Still need to book for December 2014
