Hi folks,

For those who have already been to KNP, please help me understand how the check in/out works.

I believe Check out is at 10:00 am and Check in at 02:00 pm.

What if I arrive before 2:00 pm? Will they not let me enter my bungalow? Are they stringent with the times?

Some camps occasionally let you book in sooner, but it is better to assume that you won't be able to.

There is plenty that you can do after checking out before you can check in at your new camp.

You will obviously have to drive there, so with lots of wonderful sightings, that will take time, or you could park at a waterhole and see what arrives, or you could call somewhere for brunch, or you could visit the swimming pool.

abhike, Like Val said, You will have lots to do. I usually leave long before 10am for the next camp and only book in closer to 5pm.

Just make sure the air-conditioner in the car works

I can't really say, normally they are very strict with the check in times, so we always plan our day trip so that we get to the next camp at 14h00 or later.
If you are a bit early you can always have lunch before check in.
Check out times I don't know because we usually exit camp very early in the mornings, so we haven't been bothered by it before.

cant vouch for the high season but last time in may always could check in between 13.00- 13.30
but keep in mind that this was during the low season and suspect just lucky that my accommodation was
ready

Same here - when it is quiet and if the bungalow is clean and ready, we are always given the key when we get to reception.

Abhik, I suggest really early drives around the camp, like leave camp at 4.30am and go back at 8 (it will feel like midday) and have a breakfast and pack up and book out to go to next camp. The four hours will pass quickly while driving between camps.
