As far as I can remember it is not too far from the ablutions. I haven't a clue whether it is on stilts or not. I think most of the tents have a few steps to climb. Some worse than others.

You don't hava a lot of choice Yahya.

We do a day trip to Satara and the S100, a dead loss to us on the last few trips, but the river road (S39?) to Timbavati often is productive.

Agree with BB, the S100 has been dead our last couple of visits, S39 good option and don't neglect the S36, has the ability to produce something really special.

I have had very good luck on the Sweni Road - S126. Having said that, I've also driven it and seen nothing!

From Satara we usually do one trip along S100, stop for a while at N'wanetsi, go along the tar road to the H1-3, turn south for a few kms and then right along the S126 - ending up at Muzandzeni for another leg-stretch. Obviously it is further from Tamboti, but probably doable with an early start.

Another nice drive from Tamboti is to take the S140 from near the Rabelais Hut, past Talamati and wiggle along the S145 to the S36.

I agree the Timbavati River Road S39 can be spectacular - even just the scenery makes it worth doing.
