go for the GC4V. Stayed in these several times. Excellent value, plenty of space for 4, well equipped, fab view, always something wonderful going on along the fence line which is right in front of you. All in all, lovely accommodation and a quiet area of the camp. We have had elephant and buffalo within touching distance plus hyena and various bok all putting on an amazing show for us - just for us!

The best accommodation in Skukuza (in my view) is GC 6 and GW 2 (Waterkant 2). Both have excellent river views. GC6 has a very nice lapa outside. But for privacy nothing can beat GW2 - its a gem right in the corner of Skukuza, feels like you are part of the bush. Enjoy!

For the Semi Luxury Riverside Bungalow (LR2W) in Skukuza can you fit 4 people?
1 adult, 3 children?

Thanks

Ho Ossendryver,

a LR2W is just for 2 adults, 4 people is too much. Don't do that.

The GC4 is perfect!

yip there was one spotted wednesday night @the absa guesthouse around 9, (think at the bottom of the fence near the house he manage to get in) then apparently was all over the camp, spotted again near camping site at 11. We left absa guesthouse on wednesday morning after a few days , we had 10 children in our group playing around the huge property at night !

As it doesn't seem to be on the Camp Map it could possibly be a new unit.
I would also think it will not be a river view, otherwise it would be LRB3.

I'm sure someone else will know.

Hope you have a wonderful stay, wherever it is!!

:hmz: I am not quite sure, but I think it is nr 48 - 53 on the camp layout map, near the new conference centre. But if you phone Skuz they will tell you.

Hi all,

KNP have done some work recently on the decks overlooking the sabie river. There's a walk way, and the decks extend out, under the trees. (also a great spot for viewing green pigeon, Purple crested lourie (touracco ?) Credit where it's due. It's an excellent addition, and a great spot for an afternoon break. Well done KNP :D

Neilo.

I returned from Skukuza last night, after spending a couple of nights there.

Now for the first time in years, I hated Skukuza every second as a camp. There is honoustly not one positive thing I can say about Skukuza. And in general im a positive person.

The restaurant, 'something' Banana, were disgusting to say the least. The food were of extremely poor quality! And they were advertising cheese souse with the chicken schnitchel and got very sour mayonaise!!

And we only received our foor almost 50min after we ordered and we were only 2!

Then the camp itself were in extremely bad shape. Especially the camping area. Most camp sites I saw, the braai stands were broken off and thus one couldnt braai. Now I can understand that the steel do rust and that the braais can break off, but surely they have to assist in putting a loose standing braai there?? I did ask at receiption and were told that its not their problem!!

The ablutions were horrific. At the ablutions close to the swimming pool, there were only 1 shower in working order, with the other 2 being blocked off "due to construction". At the ablution block close to the safari tents, the showers were all in working order, but 2 of them didnt have a shower head, thus the water were only coming out of the wall!! one had to run around to get wet!!

Honestly the camp needs some attention!

Hi Gerhard,
Please do fill in a Complaints Feedback Form
At least it then goes on record and hopefully something can be done.
