BB,
I hope so!
Is it a good road for elephant?

Have seen eles cross it yoda, but eles can be seen all over.

Just because the S25 runs near the boundary doesn't mean it is not a good road, but like all roads, you could drive it and see squat.

But it runs parallel to the permanent river (as opposed to seasonal rivers) and animals must drink.

I saw the hippo pools pride of Lion at the hippo pools turn off on the S25 earlier this month
The Malalane wild dogs have been spotted most days of the last week on the Eastern section of the S25 near the H4-2.

Hi Yoda,

I am not sure if you have followed this topic before. Its about an angry elephant vs car on the S25.

viewtopic.php?style=2&f=67&t=67420&hilit=elephant+car+attack

This road can change in terms of most animals. Since 2011 my luck was out with elephant, but lions were in as well as leopard. Basically good for all the Big 5, but not always guarenteed. The Biyamiti crossing was opened end Sept and makes it now easier to take a drive further than this river.

On our last visit in Sept we saw a lioness at the Biyamiti bridge and leopard close to the Lukimbi turn-off. The other side can have the effect that you feel you are not in the real wild, but whose going to complain if you spot wild dogs or leopard along the road.

it also good for baboon and impala

Didn't drive this road last time but will give it a go this time I think. Your sightings of lions, wild dogs and pangolins make it tempting!!

How often do you get a glimpse of civilization?

We will also give it a go as from 24/12. Just hope the wilddogs are still around!

Just on a few sections Graham, it doesn't particularly worry me,
I think the road is good enough not to miss out on because of that!

Graham, I can just imagine the S25 will see you since you staying in Biyamiti next time  (I am still waiting to be able to make our August in Kruger)

It is not much of the road where you can see civilisation :thumbs_up:Rather look at the road every now and then to see if you see any cat or dog tracks. It helped me spot the Hippo Pool Pride

Thanks Elsa and Cheetah. Hope you get to do your trip Cheetah. Is it booked or are you waiting to see if it is feasible? If you are nearby we should have a Windhoek!
