This is one of my favourite roads, a good road for spotting the rare Black Rhino & Wild Dog. However I would love to know your experiences on this road...

Also have this feeling, but I've spot the dogs at the junction to Croc bridge once.

I've had the most amazing parrot & trumpetter hornbill sightings though.

Whenever I travel with guests I try to avoid the feeling of being "next to civilazation". On my own I've had many great moments on this road.

We never fail to drive this road, and have had some wonderful sightings along its considerable length.
A few years ago we sat with a LIT for over half an hour all on our own. Very special.
Have seen Lions on numerous occasions, always big herds of Ellies, W Rhino and now just recently our black Rhinos just off, on the S119.
Have often see the banks literally covered with W/B Bee-eaters.
In fact we generally see a wide variety of animals.
I know one does catch glimpses of civilization every now and then but in those short spells I look the other way.

It's a magic Road Elsa and beautiful Vegetation with some spectacular Knobthorns.

We've seen the big 5 on that road, but best sighting was a group of four cheetahs right in the road for over 30 mins without another car in sight. They rested in the shade, got up and walked lazily in front of our car for about ten minutes and flopped down in another shady spot. Another car joined us eventually, but they were not disturbed. In they end they suddenly sat up and sneaked off into the bush. We couldn't see why, but we could hear baboons barking in the bush, so I assume there could have been some danger - lions or leopard ?

Wow Herman, what an experience! My dad has also seen a lot of game on this road before I was born, he has videos to prove it. I can't remember too clearly now, but he definitly has seen cheetah here and lion. Beautiful road!

Set off from Croc Bridge at 5h15, white rhino, then turned onto S25.

hyena next to the car,
eles just off the road,
5 wild dogs on the road,
leopard on the road,
hyena with trailing gibblets on the road,
2 lions at buff kill on Biyamiti causeway (that's what we were looking for)
African hawk eagles above the road on a branch just after.

Then it got normal again.

We found a pack of about 11 wild dogs on this road. They were hunting and caught an Impala. We were the only people who saw them hunt. We have also seen lions and on a night drive we had a quick glimpse of an Aardvark crossing the road.

Also had good sightings on this road, I am surprised its not as much discussed as the S100! Same kind of road, many inlets to the water, etc..etc..

Must confess, don't tend to drive this road very often, and when i do i turn off to the S108 (coming from CB). Saw only general game sofar and onetime a big ellie herd which were special. Oh and a leopard crossing the road

This is my alternative commuter route between Malelane and Komatipoort - preferable to N4 time permitting of course.

Sometimes nothing but impala, but have seen just about everything at some point. One day two lots of mating lions just a couple of kms apart. Another memorable afternoon was in the middle of a chaotic event as a large herd of elephants chased a couple of mating lions ..... fortunately none connected with the car as they were literally running all around us! Always lots of birds about too.

I would like to see more 'turn-outs' to the river though - apart from hippo pools there is only one.

I have seen wild dogs on the tar road in the first 10 km from Croc Bridge in 2 of the last 3 trips.

S25 is a good road indeed, saw lots there in January 2008. If im correct, the s21 is one of the more quite roads in the park....so if you have a sighting, its all yours. Looks like a nice trip to do yes. I never skip a look at Renosterkoppies dam, there are always animals. Just check it with google earth for proof, lots of gamepaths

Have always loved this road. In December, on the S25 close to the junction with the tar road near CB, we were fortunate enough to see a pride of lions being chased from their resting spot by 2 White Rhino which were grazing about 70 meters away. Watched this for about an hour until too many cars.

I have the pictures and have tried to post them on the forum but without success. Technologically challenged I am !

Oh yes. This is a good one. Never fail to visit that area. Have seen black rhino (2)running right next to our car. Cheetah a number of times. White rhino, ellies. Plenty. But strangely, not lion. Better luck this June !!
