A quick tut on how to post pics using the attachment function:

It is still a good idea to resize your picture before uploading it as this will save you time and bandwidth.

1. When you make a post, just below the posting window you will have the following option:

Browse to upload the file from where it is saved on your pc/phone/tablet.

The name of the file on your pc/phone/tablet will be displayed as such on the forums. It is optional to add a comment.

2. Add the file (the file will upload):

3. Select 'Place inline" (optional) and the file will be placed where your cursor is in the post.

You can now add another picture to your post. You can add a number of attachments to a post, but can only load them up one at a time.

NB: save your post before opening the attachments to view them.

Hi DinkyBird,

What will the file restriction be in size and bytes? Also will you still have the right to edit the post if required?

One needs to click on the pic to open it. When you open the page of a TT, the only the thumbnails will load, pics only load when you open them to view.

As Steven said this is a testing phase, so if you all do not mind assisting to help iron out any issues it will be aprreciated.

Mel, maybe Steven has set a limit on the picture size that I am not aware of - will check with him next week.

Vinkie, how is it not working?

We are hoping this will assist people sharing pics as it is a lot easier than having to use a hosting site.

You get an attachment and don't get the picture in the post, only a miniature of the picture.

As you can see in my post:

Image

You need to post text in the post or else the system says: Your message contains too few characters.

Image

Maybe it's nice when you want to share a picture but for the webcams it doesn't work....sorry to spoil the fun

Yip, you need to have some 'text' in the post. Have a look at the steps I posted to assist everyone, hopefully they will help you. If, after uploading the attachment, you select 'place inline' it goes into the post and serves as the required text.

And yes, thumbnails only show in the post, to see the full pic, you need to open it from the post.

Thanks for your reply but I won't be using it....sorry

It gives a thumbnail like you said but it takes you to another page when you want to view the full picture.....ti's too complex when you want to return to the Topic...

Like I said maybe it's nice for a single post but it doesn't work fine in the Webcam section....
