Very hard to tell, but there were lions inthe area earlier in the day.

White bird, possibly barn owl or spotted dikkop, both of which I have seen there..
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

:hmz:

Normally Crested Guinea Fowl are only seen in the very north of Kruger, but maybe they got lost!!!
I haven't seen the photo, so can't comment there!!!

The guineafowl pics which were posted shortly before 11 am Saturday at Orpen are helmeted guineafowl. They are common throughout the park. Crested guineafowl have a fluffy feathered 'hat' and are usually seen only in the far north of Kruger. I have still to see them myself. :D

I've also seen heaps of helmeted guinea fowl all over Kruger (& elsewhere). In the photo I thought that some of the taller birds might have been helmeted, but I guess they don't mix. I took photo's of helmeted when we were in Hhuhluwe game reserve - they're an absolutely gorgeous bird. Only 3 months til we're in Kruger. :)

I was wondering as well :hmz:
I think the slightly striped effect might just be shadows from the bushes behind the hide where the cam is situated. Could it possibly be someone cleaning the cam housing with one of those furry brushes and not an animal at all?? If an animal, much more likely to be a vervet monkey than a cat...

Yea, could be a vervet!!
