With the 'demise' of Tinypic a lot of you will probably be moving to photobucket for the hosting of webcam photos.
Some of you may be sad, but there is good news too. And that good news is that with 3 clicks you can post an exciting sighting!

Well, after laying down some foundations that is.

1. Switch to Firefox!
(Which means that people at work can stop reading here.)
Firefox is a very good browser which will not let you down.

2. Download an add-on.
To be precise, the Photobucket Uploader.

3. Create an account at Photobucket.
If you use the same email address as at Facebook you can even login via Facebook, which is quite handy.

Done! 8)

Oh, you see no changes?
Lets explain a little more, that might be handy. ;)

If you hit the right mouse button while over the photo you want to upload you should see something like this:

Image

It could be that it says Login to photobucket, in that case click it.
You get this screen for a moment:

Image

Possibly followed by

Image
(If it gives this one check the information, and hit Allow.)

We are back to the proper text in the menu, and you are at the photo you want to upload.
Click the Upload to Photobucket.
Zoom, whoosh, uploaded, and you get this in the righthand topcorner of your browser:
Image
(I hit the button Link Codes already in this screenshot.)

Hit the button Link Codes, followed by a click on the bottom "copy", the one next to IMG Code.
Pop to the proper webcam topic, Reply to it, and paste the code with Ctrl+V.
Preview, and post.

So in the future its...
1. Right mouse click (to open the menu)
2. Normal click (choosing upload)
3. Click on Link Codes
4. Click on Copy
5. Click on Reply
Paste
6. Click on Submit.

:hmz: More than the 3 clicks I said, but still very fast! ;)

Apple users? Does Safari have the same uploader in Photobucket?

Safari has very few addons, and none that do a similar function.
You can however simply run Firefox.

Thanks very much for this. It might take me less than 5 minutes to post an image now

DQ... you are a clever, clever 'mite... thanks for the info
I'm going to try that now.

On a separate note - I was wondering: I've been using ImageShack but don't have an account with them. Will the pictures I'm posting eventually get deleted? Everything I've read on the site says they won't - but I wonder? :hmz:

I can do the same with imageshack and IE, but...

Has it happened to anyone trying to upload directly from the cam that you got the next frame that you didn't even see yet on the cam?
