It would appear that one of Danie's 4-legged colleagues have adjusted the Orpen Cam as it is stuck in one position. :naughty:

Hi Danie :yaya:

I think I see the problem with the Orpen spotlight!

Our grey friends might also have bumped the cam off it's touring program during the night

My colleagues at Orpen fixed the flood light about an hour ago just after dark! Thanks to the technical team and camp management at Orpen!

I noticed that the preset angles of the programmed tour on the webcam is out with a few degrees to the left (north) on the webcam at the moment...I will fix that remotely during the day tomorrow..

Happy camming!

An elephant probably bumped the cam :naughty:

Unfortunately nobody captured the moment on cam.

 Indeed something happened to the webcam or the structure it is attached to and it must have moved in one direction or another. That threw out all the pre-programmed positions of the camera! So the webcam thinks it is looking at the waterhole but in the mean time it is aiming into the bush!

Apologies for that! I'll ask our colleagues at Orpen to check the brackets, etc. and then I'll re-program it.

Thanks for your patience!

The Orpen webcam is fine again! No need not to involve our colleagues at Orpen. It was not even one of our four legged friends who bumped it! It just needed a few reboots to fix the software glitch on the software of the camera guiding it to all the pre-programmed positions.

Happy camming!

Not complaining, just curious to know what has happened at Orpen that the cam does this and then goes back to 'normal' again.

Orpen Webcam seems to be misbehaving at the moment and is stuck at the moment. Remote reboots did not help at all. Technicians will be visiting the webcam physically to perform a "cold" start to see if that helps.

At the moment the webcam is stuck looking at the Orpen Gate buildings at the moment which is not ideal...

Hopefully there is nothing wrong electronically with the webcam.

Thanks to Paul at Orpen and his team, the camera was "cold started" and it seems to be a lot better now, however, there still seems to be a bit of a problem with the preset positions changing all the time or the base of the camera not staying at the same reference. Paul and his team will check that soon!.

For now, the touring is still switched off and the static angle (wide angle/full view of whole water hole) of the Orpen webcam is shown - no touring :(

Hi lovely cammers :yaya:

This isn't quite a cam question - but is (I guess) IT related...
Is anyone else having problems loading the SANParks pages?

Over the last couple of weeks - at reasonably frequent intervals - I haven't been able to load any of the pages (webcams / forums)... it just comes up with an "unavailable" message.

I don't think this is my computer because I can always load up other web pages at the same time...

Is this just me or is anyone else having the same problems? :hmz:
