Blackshouldered Kites Mating

Unread postby HanlieLr » Sun Sep 01, 2013 3:33 pm

1. I was driving in the West Coast National Park on Sunday 1 September and stopped to photograph a Blackshouldered Kite :-

2. Out of nowhere, a male Kite appeared in my view finder:-

3. The mating was very quick and I only had time for this ONE photo !!!! :-

To witness this act and to photograph it absolutely made my day.

Was I lucky or was it being at the right place at the right time?

Something I will remember for a long time.

Kind regards to all

Hanlie

HanlieLr, welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing these great images.

It is not anyone that will have a sighting like this. The rule is, when on the road, especially the West Coast, one need to have your camera handy.
