Roberts Birds - Android Version

Unread postby Baffers » Wed Dec 19, 2012 2:00 pm

Hi guys...

Sorry to bother but I thought WTM might be a happy chappie.
I took the plunge and bought the Roberts Birds for my Samsung Galaxy Tab. (Android Version)

I have never been a birder but this thing has opened a new world for me. We have been in Kruger for 3 days now and I have spotted 51 different species.

Even for us who don't know birds it is easy to identify as the program allows you to eliminate birds by features and then to get pics and identify very easily.

It is flippen awesome! Really worth the R 580 spent.

I might get one of those stickers that says "please pass... Bird watching"
:D

Please feel free to move the post mods ;) Just had to post where WTM would read it ;)
At the end of it all you don't want to go into the grave peacefully and quietly in well preserved body... You want to go sort off skidding in sideways, full of bruises and scratches saying: "Man what a ride!!!"

Baffers the bird man  , go for it. Its amazing what else you see when you stop regularly to identify birds.

I'll have to make do with the Sasol eBirds on my tablet, and the variety of birdbooks too

Enjoy your trip.

Nahh you see WTM. For a total Newbie like me the program allows me to eliminate birds based on feature where the program then starts eliminating birds by shape and plumage.

I have all the sasol books but this little one helps a total noob like me to get down to spotting the right bird without having to first figure out what species it is.

It's a "godsend" for a noob like me

:):):)

Now if I could only play cricket like the proteas are playing now... Life would be complete...
