Rare Bird Sightings in KNP

Unread postby Budaja » Mon Dec 10, 2012 8:55 pm

Hi All

Heard a few reports about about Madagascar Cuckoo in the Biyamiti area. Was wondering when these were last seen and how long they typically stay around for in the past?

Has anyone else had any other rare bird sightings recently? Every now and then you hear of a lucky Narina Trogon sighting or some of the less common cuckoo species, Pels fishing owl etc.

Always a pleasure to see some great birds on top of all the mammals etc!

Welcome to the forum Budaja, always nice to get another birder on board.

Raymond, the head guide at BnD, has been reporting on the Madagascar Cuckoo over here.

And we have a couple of specialist birding forums - Birds, where we discuss and share stories and photos of birds found in SANParks, and our own birding club Stiffnecks, for the rest of the world's birds.
