Have seen these beautiful birds near Pafuri.

Has anyone else seen them and have some pics?

How can anyone post a pic of a bird which do not exist?

Exactly what I thought, WTM. Maybe we should give 'them' one more chance during BBW to prove their existence. Otherwise, we have to ask the mods to delete these posts about fanthom birds.

You will have a roaring laugh if you should hear what I dont think assists in Kruger!! I've seen plenty of raptors e.g eagles, and in my last trip for the first time saw black shouldered Kite and a African Harrier Hawk. Further "there is no falcons,kestrels, hawks,or buzzards!!"
If they are in Kruger, please tell me, WHERE??

I've already asked the authors of SASOL to remove the bird from the book. I've ripped its page out of my copy.

Kestrels only exist in the Karoo. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

And I thought I just didn't see any because of my inexperience!!

But now I don't feel bad at all

On my first visit to Crook's corner which I think must be one of the most beautiful spots in Kruger [though my experience is limited] this sighting was the icing on the cake!

During our visit to the north of KNP beginning of January we had sightings of these lovely birds at Crook's Corner and twice on the Mahoni loop around Punda.

We regularly see them at the Crooks Corner / Pafuri area.Always exciting finding them.

Had no less that 5 sightings around Punda and Pafuri in December 2008.

Hi all

We were checking out this flock of Helmet Guineafowl when all of a sudden we spot this lonely Crested one with them. He seemed stressed when we tried to photograph him because he was running from cover to cover as we tried to get him on video. Normal still camera was never an option.

Now, for the best part. This Crested Guineafowl was spotted on the corner of the Majulu loop and the Malelane - Skukuza tar road. 12km from Berg&Dal camp.

I think this must be the most southern Crested one in KNP.

That's amazing !!! Four years down the line, and I had exactly the same sighting yesterday ! I had no idea Crested Guineafowl were that far south. I saw a single bird foraging amongst a troop of baboons yesterday on the road that runs from Renosterkoppies toward Lower Sabie/Nkuhlu. I have always been looking for these birds when I venture north, meanwhile I could find them down south. Needless to say it was a first for me. Made all the lion/leopard sightings yesterday pale in comparison.
