It seems to be a fake video.

But nevertheless, it has happened in real life before.

I warned a long time ago and will do so once again that people should keep a very close eye over their small kids in assumed to be safe Kruger camps. You do not want to loose a child in this fashion. It might just happen (again)!

I saw the eagle Video. My thoughts are that the Eagle is genuine, including the approach and flight path etc, but I think the kids reactions are not 100% normal. I have a feeling that the Eagle was a baited captive bird trained to take a child dummy, and then they swapped out the dummy with a similar dressed real kid. He cried more like they had taken his sweets rather than that he had massive talons embedded in his back. I have kids, they cry differently when they are sore or in shock.

Yes and no. I think what seperates us from other primates, is that we have become the apex predator, which makes us a little scarey to take us on.

As far as I know, there is only one properly documented case of an eagle attacking a child. This happened in Zambia in the 60s, when a 6-year old boy walking to school was attacked by a Crowned Eagle. A woman working in the fields came to the boy's rescue and killed the eagle with a hoe. Both boy and eagle were taken to the nearest mission hospital, which is how the eagle came to be positively identified. The kid sustained head injuries, but survived.

I can't for the life of me remember in which book exactly I read this, so the above is from memory.

The video of the eagle grabbing the child has been shown to be a fake. It was a project by students as part of their studies.

Do a search it is well documented.
