Hi everyone,
on our last visit to SA I bought the Roberts Multimedia. I now have a slight dilemma.

Evidently I can only have one installation of this, with the first disk being needed for startup each time.

My problem - I spend most of my time in the UK, working off a normal desktop computer (this one in fact). When we visit SA we take my wife's laptop. So if I can only install it on one machine, which one do I install it on? If on my home computer then when we visit I won't have access to it where I may need it most, but if on the laptop then I won't be able to use it very often when we are at home.

Can you de-install it from one machine and reinstall on another, but then how do you get your data transferred? Can you backup onto another machine? Anybody got any ideas? :hmz:

Thanks
Allan

Roberts' MM has got a decent backup/restore facility.
Enter the 'bird list' module and check the menubar on top, think it is labelled 'In/Out' or something like that. This enables you to make a backup of your whole list or export sections you might need for a trip to Excel etc. Restoring it again is also very easy.

Unfortunately with the amount of pirated software out there Guy Gibbon had to put this security on his software. You can only have it loaded on to one machine at a time. Install it on the machine you would use most often. When going on a trip transfer everything to your laptop. Send an email to Guy to explain and they'll de-register the one machine and register the other one. Once you get back swop machines again. I've never waited longer than a day to get it sorted out, they are usually quite efficient.

That's excellent advice Johann, just what I was looking for

Thanks
