I think your little bird is going to into a Woodland Kingfisher. I am no expert though

Told you I was no expert. On second thought it looks more like a Striped Kingfisher, streaked crown, white neck and the black band through the eye. The bill is dark above and red below. They are the smaller of the Kingfisher clan (should have been a dead give away for someone as untrained as I)

Hi Tionet,
I think your first instinct was the correct one, this is a Woodland Kingfisher. The upper part of the bill is red and the lower part black (diagnostic) while in the Striped Kingfisher it's the other way round (upper- black, lower - red). The striped kingfisher has a brown back while your birdy shows blue. The general colouration of the striped is similar to and can be confused with Brownhooded -.

Ah, ok and thanks. Then this was a lifer for me as well, but then I saw quite a few in Marakele :)
