Spotted this Southern Brown-throated Weaver at the hide on Thulasihleka Lake in the middle of Richards Bay Harbour.

Ploceus xanthopterus, it is a good one, Imax! :thumbs_up:

This brown-throated weaver is restricted to the eastern parts along that coast of South Africa. Nice images too.

One gets good views of this uncommon bird in the reed beds at the base of the bridge over the estuary that gives access to St Lucia town. Except for a couple of months in the dead of winter, they are always on display here.

Found this one in pumping wind at Umhlanga lagoo reserve last week.
