Not the best of pics - taken through my kitchen window - but here is the Western Grey Plantain Eater mentioned in a previous post. Have not seen it for a while though.

We live in Kensington (Jhb) in a rocky part of the suburb, we often have

SPOTTED EAGLE OWLS
BLACK CROWS
WHITE BREASTED CROWS
HEDEADA'S
BRIGHT YELLOW WEAVER'S
RED WEAVER'S
A WHOLE FLOCK OF SWALLOWS,,SPECIALLY BEFORE AND AFTER RAIN.

The other day we saw a small hawk fly past, but it was to fast to identify.

Hi,
Okay, here's a bird in my garden--a Turkey. It's about the size of a Ground Hornbill. Not a very pretty bird but highly intelligent. Every so often I have a few coming through but the best sighting was about ten years ago when 16 Turkeys paraded through my yard. :)

I woke up one morning, and outside on my aandblome was a collared sunbird...

OK...its not rare, not endangered, but it is an infrequent visitor to suburban gardens. Cute little thing. And a pin-tailed wydah also came hopping along :)

My motto is anybird is a blessing in teh garden - even the bobbing wagtails :)

Amazing what a bit of sugarwater can do in winter. Taken in a friends garden yesterday (11 birds in this photograph - all Amethyst Sunbirds).

Thats amazing to have so many of those birds in one pic. Normally they are flying around so fast that you cant even keep up with them.
Great pic Lizet
